I know what you’re thinking: who’s really crazy enough to put coconut oil on their penis?
As a loyal reader of this blog, you’ll already know I’m into some weird, kinky stuff.
Coconut Oil is one of them.
Yes, the same health food that you hear all the hippies raving about at Whole Foods. That same white goop can help you create your own white goop (okay that was kind of gross).
On a more serious note, I get this question all the time.
“Can You Really Put Coconut Oil On Penis?”
The answer is a resounding yes, and here’s why.
Slip ’n’ Slide
First things first, let talk about store bought lube. I used this by the gallon working in the porn industry.
Store bought lubes “do the job,” but they’re far from the best option.
They do the job of lube: decrease friction for a long period of time. And yes, Astroglide and other brands will not stain your sheets or burn your dick off.
But just because they can be applied safely, does that mean they’re good for your body?
The answer is a resounding no. Store-bought lubricants are made out of petroleum products or are a silicon-based derivative. Even water-based lubes, which are supposed to be more natural, contain nasty chemicals.
These chemicals should pose no problem, right? Not so fast…
In case you didn’t know, the vagina is made of a highly complex culture of living, breathing cells. Bacteria, DNA, and all kind of fluids make sure the vagina performs like it’s supposed to.
The vagina is responsible for raising a baby, peeing, bleeding, and having sex, so the fluid balance becomes a troubling juggling act for the female body. For Pete’s sake, they bleed once a month, how weird is that?
The vagina has evolved into the beautiful organism that we know today, but there’s one problem. The vaginal fluid is prone to damage when foreign chemicals are introduced.
If your girlfriend or wife has ever had a yeast infection, you’ll know that they occur when a new chemical enters the vagina, offsets the fluid balance, and causes growth of nasty yeasts.
This is exactly why you shouldn’t use store bought lubes. The silicon and petroleum products in lube are not meant to live inside the vagina. Introducing them to the culture could disrupt the entire ecosystem, causing problems.
At best, your woman walks around with an itchy vagina the next day, but at worst she could get a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis (gross).
This is why you want to use a natural lubricant.
Why Coconut Oil?
Coconut oil is a great lube, but you might be saying “why can’t I use butter, olive oil, or whatever else I find in the kitchen?”
(For more questions about healthy oils check out this awesome advice article)
Actually, you could, but you might find that butter plus hot sex causes your dick to cook like a steak. Just kidding.
You could use butter or olive oil, but unfortunately they make a big mess.
They are also missing one of the biggest benefits of coconut oil – warming.
When you buy coconut oil, it comes as a solid, but it melts around 76 degrees.
This means that as the temperature increases, the coconut oil will become more liquid-y, which means it’s a better lubricant. It’s common to apply coconut oil as a solid, massage it around a little, and then watch it slowly turn into the best liquid lubricant ever.
This warming sensation is unbeatable, even from the best Durex and Astroglide creations.
An added benefit of coconut oil …STD prevention.
Don’t quote me on this–I’m not a doctor–but I’ve read that coconut oil has anti-bacterial properties, which can help fight off STDs. You probably shouldn’t be having sex with a woman that has an STD, but just in case you do, coconut oil’s might help to have your back.
I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t mention this one caveat, condoms.
Coconut oil melts condoms.
I’m not a chemist so don’t ask me how, but it’s something to do with the fatty acids in coconut oil.
I thought it was an old wife’s tail until I tried it myself. The condom broke within minutes.
Don’t try this at home.
What if I Don’t Need Lube?
I know some guys are reading this thinking, “heh, I make my wife so wet, I don’t need lube.”
Bad news, you probably do.
There’s only two reasons why couples don’t want to use lube.
The first reason is ego. Girls like thinking they have super wet pussies, and guys like thinking they’re such stud muffins that they turn their partner into a sopping mess.
That’s okay. I’ve definitely been there, but it’s time to lose the ego.
Sex right now might be great, but imagine for a second if your wife or girlfriend was twice as wet…her pussy was warm…and it never dried up.
That’s what sex with lube is like. Sex is amazing (I obviously love it) but lube makes everything ten times better.
The second reason is that you don’t last long in bed.
Five minutes of sex doesn’t require much lubrication. It’s only after you’re pounding away for 20 minutes (or more) that lube is required.
That’s when the boys are separated from the men –those times you’re having sex and halfway through you need to pause for a Gatorade.
If you’ve never had an epic sex session like that, here’s some supplements that will help you last longer in bed.
Now, break out the coconut oil, slap it on your dick, and have some epic sex!
